I started design school in 2002. The next year I was already working as a web designer at Unisys with expertise in Flash animation as well as learning script languages for the web.
In the beginning of 2004 I decided to dedicate myself entirely to animation, left my job and was the first animator to join the 2DLab studio staff.
A year later the design school was just not working anymore, the work was getting too technical and not creative enough. So I left it, enrolled myself in a film school and I started to take additional inspiring life drawing classes (much better!).
This same year I directed 2 TV episodes for 2DLab series, one of each won the 1st prize for TV production at the Chicago International children’s Film Festival 2005.
The following year was filled with film and animation courses. At that time I also did my own first collective experimental film outside of the studio and I started to dedicate myself to develop my other talents like screenwriting.
In 2007 I left 2DLab to accept the invitation to the Hot House program for new directors at the National Film Board of Canada. There I made my first solo film, called ONE.
Back in Brazil in late 2007 and 2008 I worked as a animator at Globo's (the 4th largest TV network in the world) Animation and Visual Effects department, as a freelancer on various projects for studios like Campo4, and as a teacher of Vector Animation at the Animation Post Graduation at Puc-Rio.
In 2009 I was back at 2DLab as the first Storyboard artist to work at My Big Big Friend series. A show co-produced with Breakthrough Animation (Canada). At the end of 2010 and the begining of 2011 I also did animation supervision for the same series.
From 2011 to 2012 I supervised a bunch of episodes of the Yellow Woodpecker Ranch for 2DLab, Mixer and Globo (current job).

"Diego seems very talented with a great attitude. Whatever project/studio he ends up working at, will be lucky. I can see him growing into one of the town’s most sought after directors."
