That's my second experiment with art rage software. I'm still taking baby steps with it, but I think that, compared to the other one, I'm in a good pace.

Mosca Redesigned

As any animator I live with 100 projects for short films on my mind all day long.
The mosca project is one of the most cool I have right now. I took some time to redesign the character I put here on the site a while ago. Still hoping to find time to do the actual film some day...

Art Rage 1st Test

That's my first test with Art Rage software. 3 hours with a small graphire wacom tablet.

Big Brother Brazil 9 - Final Winner Animation

That's Max, the guy that won BBB9 reality contest. That animation end up not going on air but it was kind of good, definitely the best peace I did for that show.
I still have the sketchs for it, I will upload than later.

Big Brother Brazil 2009 Spots

The first 3 spots were done together, from one day to the other. I didn't know the characters and since we had such a tide schedule I did a veeeery limited animation on those. The last one I had the same time(one full day) but I had to do just that one, therefore much more animation on it :)

In one way or the other, all the work done for Reality Shows are very economic because there is no time for errors and second thoughts. Almost every line you draw goes to the final piece!

The style was, in some way, based on the Total Drama Island Show, but with much less focus on models sheets and cleanups. Ironically this show will be airing on Cartoon Network Brazil soon.

Half Baked Zoiu Website

Well, I gonna do a little making of for the website image. I'm in the middle of it! The blue "balloon" is the "mouse over" state of the site buttons. It's gonna change a lot yet but we can have an idea of the final felling already. I try to always begin an illustration with the basic colors and shadows. Than I go to high lights, textures and smaller details. I did the initial drawing in Flash and now I'm finishing it in Photoshop. I always begin with big brushes and big opacity and ends with smaller brushes and smaller opacity... That's just the general rule of course, I like to vary a lot.

I have a new monitor now, a SyncMaster 2232bw and one thing I could say already is that the Cintiq 12wx has not as much contrast as the monitor, so I can't see all the details of the illustration on the Cintiq. A turn around is that I can duplicate my window at photoshop and work on the Cintiq but using the monitor to keep track of my details. I don't look at it all the time. Manly when I smudging out stuff.

Zoiu Studio Illustrations

Oh Yeah! I'm about to open my own animation studio with a couple of amazingly talented friends. I'm working on the website right now. There are 2 concept images for it that I can already show.


If you are wondering, "Zoiu" in Brazil is a kid slang for "Eye", 1 eye.... It cames from the portuguese word "Olho" that phonetically becames "Owlyou"! We chose that name because it is small enough to remember and it has a direct connection with the hole visual art concept... also we already have the <.com.br> web adress!

4º Locomotiva Festival

The 4º Locomotiva Animation Festival will open for entries soon! The festival is national (Brazil) and will have my work in a special session.
I did the illustration for the site and poster and seems that we're going to have a Tv and web spot also. Soooonnn!

Merry Xmass Attack!

My friends Dale and Sylvie sent me a nice Xmas card this year, so I decide to make one for them too... I just didn't had the patience to print it out... I'm not a big fan of printing unfortunately :(
Anyway, MERRY XMAS MY FRIENDS, enjoy the card!

Niemeyer and Hstern

A Tv clip done for a especial jewelry collection based on Oscar Niemeyer drawings. The spot is really simple and it's not everything I wanted, but its ok... The music is very fine tough :)

I did almost everything in terms of animation, planning etc... The drawings are based on originals from Niemeyer himself. The direction and some animation was done by 2DLab.

AnimaTV Workshops

AnimaTV begins in december and I gonna be travelling to the south of Brazil to help creators to format their projects for it. 18 of them will receive one of the biggest grants ever conceived for animation in Brazil to produce series pilots... and 2 series will win a hole season. This will be the most important government kick in the butt that Brazilian animation had ever had, really, it's amazing!

Politika
